Who has been to this? Is it worth the money not only for registration, hotel but having car shipped to Dallas? Just curious. If a repost forgive me. Matt
Been to 4 & 5. Those were fun. Windbreakers suck but they can be avoided. Track time is ok ... it's dumbed waaay down for the noobs but hey, better than nothing. At VOI5 in Vegas I got bored with the slow road-course action, parked my Viper and had a blast off-roading Dodge's 4x4 V-10 trucks. Getting air and plunging straight down bumper first into the dirt on their truck moto-x course. That shit was waaaay fun. Flogging shit outta somebody elses 4x4 pickup in the dirt ... niiiiiice. Believe it or not, borrowing their race-prepped, caged, turbo-neons and auto-xing the shit out of them was fun too. Vipers are too fucking big for auto-x but slinging those Neons around was money.
It can be fun, you've just got to keep your eyes open and try different shit.
Fuck, I missed the Vegas trip. Fuck me Hazel. Now that would have been a no brainer. Just not sure how much fun Dallas will be if this thing sucks ballz. Remember I will have the wifey-poo with me so I already have one hand tied behind my back.....LOL
There's plenty of fun stuff to do around Dallas. Find some other wives to hook her up with for a shopping trip one evening and you'll get some freedom to, uhhh, do whatever.
Thanks, I think I/we are going to go. I was looking at some of the past pictures and seems like an awful lot of windbreakers there, guess we will just have to liven things up. Nothing like a drunk redneck from North Carolina to spice things up a little.....LOL Matt
I went to VOI7 and had a blast - it's all a matter of what you make of it, you just got to find the fun, hard-partiers like myself
There's nothing like heavy drinking until ~2am, only to get up at ~6am the next morning to drive out to the track site, and along the way, encounter a couple of other Vipers on the drive (who you don't know at all), when all of sudden the morning fog disappears, the long open straight road is in front on you, and the group of you take off up to 150MPH+ ON THE WAY TO THE TRACK! (Faster on the way there than at the track itself?!) Unbeatable experience!
I have been to all seven. I have taken just my son, my wife, daughter and son and friends on different VOI's. We have never been disappointed. Dodge does an excellent job of hosting these events. There is enough variety for everyone. And if you don't want to participate in a certain event you are free to go off on your own. My wife and daughter, who aren't into cars, have shopped, gone to museums, went on scenic drives, etc., etc. I highly recommend it.
