Re: BMW 645 ci Coupe

Better looking than the 5 series but too much cash for too little car IMO. It is M5 pricing without M power. They want the same cash for that as an E55?? I don't get it. How much is the M6 gonna be?

Re: BMW 645 ci Coupe

I have already seen 4 on the street. They look good, you cant confuse it for a Z4 or any other Bimmer. Like getbit I think the pricing may be too high, it was targeted as a mid 40's car.

Saw one yesterday with dealer tags; looked okay, I always wondered why BMW didnt make a mid sized convertible.

It does seem a bit high even for BMW.

For some reason I have always preferred BMW to Mercedes and this car has just about everything I'd want in a long-term (at least 3 years) daily driver. Gotta see one in black.

Re: BMW 645 ci Coupe

I do like the 540's for a getting around car; but felt the price was too high. The three or four times I did go to the BMW dealer to see about getting one I was turned off by the salespeople - maybe its this area, but they almost throw you out when you want to haggle on the price. I guess they sell enough at list that they wont even consider an offer of less.

Exactly my personal preference. The listing e-bay dealer that is. ALWAYS best to send $80,000 to an internet dealer whose second language is English!

That car is mighty pricey. Its MB competitor the CLK500, goes for about $10K less and out performs the 645 in almost every category, including slalom, which is supposed to be BMW's forte.

Re: BMW 645 ci Coupe

I thought it was aiming at the CL-class? I know that they are slightly mroe pricey, but that is MB's two door four seater "touring" car, right? In anycase, They dont appeal to me, I dont particularly like the whole new BMW line up. The 7 is ok, I hate the 5's new face and I am beginning to wonder what they will do to the 3?

Anyone hear about the V-10 they are dropping into the new M5? Maybe if you could opt for that engine in the 6 it would be better, but I still wouldnt buy it.

the 6 series is based on the 5 series...the CL is a 2 door S-Class.
Not going to compete.

Sorry Smoke I gotta disagree, I test drove the 645, S500 and the Audi A8 on the track and the 645 was the best handling car there with the S500 2nd and the A8 3rd. This was on an autocross track.

Re: BMW 645 ci Coupe

He said the CLK500 outperforms it...not the S-Class. The S500 and A8's are full sized boats. The CLK is a coupe, like the 6 series and it's natural competitor. It is not fair to judge apples to oranges....or in this case, sport coupes to boats.

You've spent enough on cars this year already.

Hey Ron it was the 745. Unless you went to a different event.

Ha! From your keyboard to her ears.

But you can never spend too much on cars! I'm test driving one next week. I'd never pay over MSRP though so it may have to wait.
