Need a used computer (complete)

Want to buy a gift for an "underprivileged" kid that doesn't have a computer. I need a working set-up with a monitor and printer. It needs to have and run the basics, Word, Excel and have a modem for a dial up internet connection.

To buy a new one at the standard sites (even refurbished) you're looking at $399 to start...then add a monitor and printer and by the time you're done you're looking at $750 plus. I don't need a P4 2.5 ghz machine. Anything decent and made within the last 2 years will be fine. P2 600 mhz would be fine...with any crappy printer and a 15' - 17" monitor.

He's a high school senior and is having to spend a fortune renting machines to write and send out college applications. I'd be willing to spent maybe $300-$400. Anyone recommend any sites or businesses? Appreciate the help. Oh yeah, he's in the NYC area.

That would be the perfect deal Eric (we NY's seldom even think of Walmart)...as they would give you a legit deal w/ warranty. But the best I could find is $398 w/o monitor and printer.
