If you were in my shoes, what would you do?

We were at a person's house just outside Boston yesterday removing a stairlift that was installed for the previous owner. The new owner(s) are of Arab decent. The fellow I talked to who was doing some remodelling work in the basement seemed like a nice guy. After finishing the removal, we went down the hall to wash our hands in the bathroom. When I came out, my co-worker who was waiting in the hall for me said "take a look at this". While standing in the hall, he happened to notice a framed sign hanging in the den diagonally across from the bathroom which had some Arabic writing on it. Underneath the Arabic words in english it read; "There is no God, only Allah". Two picture frames over was a solo flying certificate.

It may not mean anything at all, but keep in mind that 2 of the 9/11 flights originated from Boston.

Do you think I should drop a dime (anonomously at a pay phone of course) to the local branch of the FBI?

Drop a call as this guy fits in the profile IMO. If it's nothing it's nothing but what if this sob is part of a cell?

You'll figure out the correct thing to do.

Oh, charge the sob triple.

Walk carEfully, as you don't wish to kill off your business. In a week, call back and ask if you can do a check of the system. Then while doing the check strike up a conversation with him, try and see if he is just a pilot, who is muslum.

If after this you are still uncomfortable, phoine it in

Are you all fucking serious? Why don't you just shoot the guy to be safe?

Do you realize that "There is no God, only Allah" is a boilerplate saying in their religion, as common as hanging up a cross if you're Christian, and that this is indeed still somewhat of a free country, and that there are thousands upon thousands of private pilots registered?

Get a clue... the government has you so brainwashed it's not even funny.

"The government?" Hardly.

30 years of murder, 19 terrorists and 9/11 brainwashed me.

Make the call Mark.

Re: If you were in my shoes, what would you do?

Mark - CALL.

Too many people are either complacent or "don't want to get involved". The placement of those 2 items is a little too coincidental, IMO.

The terrorists succeeded in part be being able to blend in. You may have seen something in this guys house that no one else has seen. The terrorists also succeeded in part because even if anyone thought they were "suspicious" they had an attitude of "well, they aren't bothering *me*".

SB is right - it's your duty.

Of course we know that's standard Islamic boilerplate. We've seen them howling it in the streets and muttering it on prayer rugs for years. Don't be innumerate (mathematically illiterate) ... the stats on Boston/Arab/Pilot do not make him as common as a cross in a Christian home. Mark wasn't suggesting a citizen's arrest, just a discreet call to the FEEBs. There's no law against that is there? You can call the cops if you see your Colombian neighbors unloading plastic wrapped packets from the wheel well of their 280z in the middle of the night. So maybe it turns out he's Juan Valdez and it's only coffee ... You didn't break any laws by being suspicious.

Drop the dime, Mark.

Actually, the Arab fellow is the new owner of the house which we installed a lift for 4 years ago. We were offered the equipment since he (the Arab) didn't want or need it, so we removed it & are done with this "customer".

Mark,

Send me an email at supervetteracer@aol.com and I will look up your local Homeland Security office and get you a contact.

Just by calling doesn't mean they are going to send in choppers and start wasting his family. All it means is that someone somewhere is going to do a bit of research and just check him out a bit more. Thats it. So don't feel like your doing the guy a huge disservice.

But please do make the call. It's what we do.

Re: If you were in my shoes, what would you do?

Ring Ring

"FBI"

"Yeah hi, I am calling to report a suspected terrorist!"

"OK, great. Now what makes you think this person is a terrorist?"

"Well, I was doing some work in his house and he has a sign hanging on his wall in Arabic that reads "There is no God, only Allah"! As if that isn't enough, he also has a solo flying certificate framed and on the same wall! Can you believe it?!?! This bastard has the nerve to live here and not only be a Muslim but he has actually taken flying lessons as well!!"

"Yeah, that is something. Anything else?"

"Dah, nope that's it. I did mention the A-rab sign right???"

"Yes, and thank you sir. We will give it the attention it deserves."

"Great! You are welcome and go get em!!" God Bless the USA playing the background...

FBI agent Kurdi (a 2nd generation Muslim American) hangs up the phone and footnotes in his report:

"11:32 AM - received a call from another fucking ignorant, redneck, dumbass, etc...." Hee-haw music playing in the background...
