My \"beater\" RT/10 needs muffler help!!
I just picked up a gorgeous '93 RT/10 with 10,000 miles to use for an everyday driver...bone stock except for DynoMax sidepipe mufflers. But, they sound "tinkey"....not deep and throaty. Any suggestions as to what mufflers to wack on this puppy to make it sound like a bomb? I gotta keep the cats on it for Pennsylvania's new stupid emissions inspection and tests.
Thanks....any input will be greatly appreciated (but not paid for) Denny
Guys, this is a side pipe car so X-pipe is out of the question without some serious modifications. Go and add a Cherry Bomb to it, that would definately help.

I agree, I used good-old glass packs on mine and I really like the sound.
It has the 2 1/2 inch exhaust on it so that's what I used. You have to get rid of those factory cats tho, way too restrictive. Find some high flows!!! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Ron....one step ahead of you, my man....took them off already, but it still sounds "not deep and throaty" as you'd expect it to.
ThinMan....sorry....I meant to say "Daily Driver"
ViperBoy...correct-o-monga....Gen I, can't do the X-pipe deal. Good heads up!! Plus, isn't the DynoMax thats on it already basically just a cherry bomb?
Jer...you're right again. I wanna change the sound to DEEP & LOUD!! Thanks....I'll take a look at those!! Take good care of my other Viper, keep it OUT OF THE SNOW!!
Snake Bitten.....I'm NOT looking to "calm it down a bit"...I want it to shake the ground! Age has nothing to do with it...I'm not senile!!
What? Who? Where? Me? Where's my Viagra?!!
SnakBit....think you're right...the cat's are the problem!! WOT sounds like a lot of back pressure just trying to come out!!
Thanks for all the input......the "old guy" has to go take a nap now!! Denny
Denny, wait till ya lift those heavy mo-fo's and look through them!!!!!!!!!
The glass packs don't quiet it down any, the wifey says she can hear me comin' couple miles away!!!!!! I think it gives it a deeper sound, kinda crackles when ya downshift too, I really like that!!!!!!
The dynomax "race muffler" is like the Cherry Bomb glasspacks. I have no cats and Dynomax Ultra flows 6" muffler(rear exhaust), and love the sound. But comparing apples to oranges.
