EVERYTHING on that car is goregeous. Everything from the immaculate TIG welds, to the tin work, to the way the cage goes right up to the interior panels....its a work of art! To add to taht the thing makes (I think) 2200 HP!!!
Kick Ass Smoke!! Thanx for this post and info. I am always interested in Superbirds, as my folks own a beauty! (They are the original owners since the orange beast was 0 miles!) It only has a few over 33K miles now. All original too except for tires (which were not even radials back in 1970).
Might just be a hunch, but this one isnt too original
Yeah, no kidding! But at least the designer/builder kept a lot of the kick ars lines and style! This thing is a beauty!! If I had some big jack to spend (and a garage space for it), I'd be all over this one. What a TOY!!!
That car is here in Austin. It is absolutely stunning. He brought it to the dealership a while back as we were considering doing a sponsorship for him on the Pro Mod tour. It is awesome, that is the only way to put it.

David, any idea where in Austin? I'd sure like to steal it, ...huh, ...I mean see it!!
The guy who owns the car also owns a Mopar message board. He bought the car about a year ago and it seems as though he got in over his head with it. As far as I know, it only ran once or twice competitively, the rest of the runs were plagued with trouble. He's dumping the car now due to what appears to be a lack of funds. He was never able to secure a sponsor for the car, and the only money he really ran it with was donated by members of his message board. I've talked to the owner over the net a few times, and I'll keep my opinion of him to myself.
It is a real cool car that I'd like to see end up with someone who can afford to run it competitively and consistently.
he couldnt get a sponsor for it is the main reason. he also did it to promot his site (moparstyle.com) but without the car running it is hard to promote....
there's more reasons but dont wanna get into them here....
he dumped some serious cash into it and is just trying to get out of it without a major hit. that car is done right now as he had to update a bunch of things and he likes to do things the right way....
if you're over there ask or look for BK....he is the owner and a good guy.
he just doesnt wanna throw anymore money into it now.
