All the palace resorts are great. The jungle tour out to the corel to snorkel was pretty cool.

Stay in Cozumel and make sure you spend a day over at Isla de Mujeres.

Stay in the Ritz! Nice place! You'll have fun just about anywhere you go down there. The touristy stuff mentioned above is always cool.

Lazy feckin' lobster - give him a few human creature comforts and suddenly he's too lazy to swim.

Re: Any suggestions for Cancun?

Go scuba diving. Absolutely stunning water (easy 100 foot visibility most anytime) and they have great underwater "state parks" that are awesome. Dive at "the wall" also. If you don't dive at least take a snorkel trip. Great bonefishing if you are into that, tarpon to. Cancun is THE party town, Cozumel is more laid back. Boat tours thru the jungle are great (on your own 2 man boat) and the Mayans ruins aren't too far away.

Re: Any suggestions for Cancun?

The ruins are definitely worth a full day excursion. If you like to hike, you'll love it. See about getting your own guide and steer clear of the groups unless you LIKE to spend your time out of the States with people from... the States.

Re: Any suggestions for Cancun?

Ya know, no matter what you do, you really can't avoid a good case of Montezuma's revenge. I say go for it, eat and drink what you like, you may shit endlessly for days but hey, our colon can always benefit from a good cleansing.

It's not so much the level of cleanliness (or lack of) that makes 'Muricans sick when south of the border, it's just that our digestive systems don't have the same bacteria-fighting enzymes that they have. I usually get a horrific stomach bug every time I come back from Baja, but it would be a far worse crime in my opinion to not just relax and experience the culinary delights from street vendors and such.

Re: Any suggestions for Cancun?

Screw Cancun, pay a little more air-fare and go futher south 1 country and do Belize.......we just got back from 5 nights in the Jungle playing hard core Indiana Jones doing caving and Mayan ruins, then 8 days out Scuba Diving on Ambergris Caye. No crowds, and great country.

Jungle Fun

Beach Paradise.

Much more fun adventure than Cancun!

Senior Frog's. And the water is fine, it's filtered due the large amount of limestone in the area.
