p.s. why was this car dynoed in 5th gear??? is 5th gear a 1:1 ration in F-cars?? maybe they were trying to top it out?????

Actually, all F40's are twin-turboed.

This is all from memory, but stock street-form was about 480 BHP / 380 TQ, and the Le Mans version ran about 750 BHP. The street version peaked around 7000 RPM and redlined around 8500 (it's an early 80's V8, not one of these 21st century V12 monsters they make now). They actually had (have?) a pretty good supply of aftermarket options, and the street version is the same engine used in the race car, just de-tuned, so it doesn't take much to put a street version up in the 700's.
