How many of you really believe the cop tried only "briefly" to stop the car? I wasn't there, but I truly believe they chased the car causing this accident. My opinion is that cops create deadly situations with their pursuit of what I would consider "non-life threatening" pursuits. How many times have traffic violations turned into pursuits resulting in deadly accidents? I've seen this happen many, many times.

I guess it's a fine line between chasing someone who is breaking the law and creating a situation where innocent people are killed caused by that pursuit.
Sure let them all go. It was the criminals fault not the police.

I don't have all the facts in this case, but I know for a FACT that the cops will chase motorist for minor traffic violations. And that's pretty fucking stupid on the cop's part.

They said the car was swerving, uhhhh what if it was a drunk? Or a complete willful and wanton reckless driver?

Chuk,

I don't know how I feel about this statement. I could go either way.

It seems that we, as Americans, have been brought up in a somewhat cowboy way. When we run from the cops, the cops give chase.

Im wondering......... If everyone knows that they can run from the cops ad just leave and or pull over and getr a ticket.... What would happen?

I think we have our shit together enough that if a cop pulls you and you book. He can call the car description on the radio and te direction. And let other slow speed chase cops track you until one gets a plate #.

Part of e thinks that cops should chase. Thats what they do.

Perhaps we can improve how we chase.

Possibble sat tracking in the future...
