I loved that movie and scene. The DI didn't go out like a bitch. We had a guy like that in boot camp, had to dress his arse ect. He even dropped a live grenade, the Former Recon Isntructor picked his fat arse up and threw him over the wall and dove out, he tried to kick the grenade down the hole but it didn't go down all the way. The former recon guy got a Navy Cross. We sitting there in formation after we were done and we heard the explosion and $hit flew all over us then we heard, "Medic Up!" The guy was rated as a genius and was tagged for some kind of intelligence job but he had zero common sense. Of course you know you never break ranks and the DI decided to have a little fun with him and told him to "come here" (He was on the other side of the platoon so he ran around...they said no and go back. He went back and they said come STRAIGHT HERE. He follow orders and as he broke the ranks we proceeded to beat the crap out of him. Of course he should have questioned the DI on his order and could not or was afraid to. It would have been better to face the rather of the DI vs breaking ranks....you never break ranks. They wanted to see if he could think on his own, he could not.
Back to ....Full Metal Jacket! pretty cool movie. I turned the DVD version to French...It sounds like a bunch of drag queens taking over the editing. I liked Cowboy, he took his lumps and still kicked arse.

Ah I do miss the days of the Sweatbox. Two men with a beef and only one walks out while the other is carried out. Only a few rules. No intentional punching to the groin, no biting, no scratching, no gouging of the eyeballs ect, no intentional breaking of the arms or legs. Bare fisted and straight out punching and throwing around. I had one $hitbird that had a beef with me. I wasn't the one they had to carry out. I don't know what his deal was, I wasn't the only one who did his girlfriend that week. We were fine after that. But I have had the pleasure of having my arse kicked and head kicked in. Weird it was over a girl in a bar. 1 Marine vs 3 Marines. I was on the bad end of that deal and I deserved it.
