Re: Deer hunting with a Corwn Vic
No, venison not for dinner. Usually unless deer was hit in front or in rear, you can salvage, but something like that, there is a lot of the organ's contents spilling onto the meat. This can cause bad taste to the meat.

A car struck deer is worthless except for the hide.

Re: Deer hunting with a Corwn Vic
Man does that give me the creeps. I did that very thing in a pick up truck a few years ago. I hit a buck late at night on a two lane road going about 50-60 MPH...totaled my truck. I was ok..but a bit sore the next day.

Not necessarily true.
When I was 16, I was driving at night about 150 yds behind another car on a state route here in Ohio. It was fall and the corn was still high on one side of the road. I saw 3 deer jump out in front of this guy. He hits one. I pull up behind him and turns out I know him. He's in his sedan with the family packed up heading to a Reba McIntire concert in Dayton. The deer he hit was a doe and her back legs were broken. He asked me if I wanted it since he was indisposed. "Yup". I grabbed my bowie knife from under the seat, put the deer out of its misery, threw it in the bed of my pickup. My night went from playing cards with the boys to skinnin' out a deer. The organs were intact, only bruising was to right ham.
Made lots of tasty deer jerky, and ground venison for chili and sloppy joes.
