I think "statute" would imply that it's a law, it's not, it has a NJDMV # assigned to and it goes on your driving record as a non-moving violation which carries no points. The insurance Co.'s know when you get them and what they are but cannot penalize you without the points. Most courts will not allow you to use this ticket for speeding above a certain mph...

Good old NJ....no corruption here..
