Whoever said in here that the engine makes 800 HP is totally correct. I am friends with the guy who witnessed that.
GM had to release the ZR1 "detuned" for the general public. Too many assholes are getting killed in the Z06 as well as the Viper. The engine in this new ZR1 is totally state of the art with all kinds of titanium & forged shit that will blow everyones mind. They will be very limited production, and you will be able to either screw with the computer or do a pulley swap to unleash the full power of the car for under a grand, where the new gen Viper will cost as usual the $10k plus to achieve comparable #'s, but with the cost of your factory warranty going out the window, as I found out the hard way.
Like I said before after owning both cars, I miss the looks I would get in the Viper due to its rarity, but the Vette is all around a much more refined car with a factory 100k mile warranty.
But what do you expect from a car that has been around for 55 years compared to 15?
