someone tried - there's a couple running around
the biggest factor is the engines require different pistons so need an engine build to do it right as the stock pistons have a high ring land that is perfect for n/a but not good under pressure. If there is any detonation they blow up - so anyone making a kit on stock pistons will have a warranty not worth a can of dog turds unless they plan on going broke.
By the time you build a 6.1 up then TT it - you are starting to dip into the kind of money very few SRT8 owners will want to spend... tho it'd make a great car and the Merc 5 sp auto would be up to it with some tweaks and decent cooling.
I looked at buying an SRT8 recently, drove one SRT8 making 342rwkw (458rwhp) and to be honest it felt slow... the cars sound awesome but are very heavy. I could not justify blowing $100k (cost of a modded one out here.... mutter mutter) on it.
A TT would really wake them up - but without decent blower friendly pistons it just is a bad idea unless you keep boost down and run a very good custom program to ensure there is no detonation ever.
