Man Im with woody on this one. Ive raced quite a few Supras and have yet to be impressed..to me the 700 rwhp ones didnt give me any better of a run than the 400 rwhp BPU ones...
Every Viper ever produced was capable of a 12.9 or faster..Even some of the 1993's hit 12.7-12.9 100% bone stock..The gen 2's hit 11's in a few mags and the gen 3's hit 11's as well only with a nicer interior and vastly improved breaks..
The point is..weather you run into a 1993 rt10 or a 2006 coupe your racing a car thats atleaste in the 12's or faster..
With Supras it's a mixed bad..Out of 10 maybe one will be stock running 13.4-14.0..
Then you'l have 6 BPU's pushing around 400 rwhp and running 12.6-13.3
Then the remaining 3 will be 700-1000 rwhp. the problem is that only 1 out of those 3 will actually be running 11's or better. The other two will put down huge numbers on the dyno and still run 12's due to bad set ups with too much lag...
Every Viper ever made can run 12's..the gen 2's and 3's even 11's..1 out of 10 supras will hit 11's..
BIG DIFFERANCE
I remember the first time I raced a Supra when my viper was stock. I had 410 rwhp and the guy had 550 rwhp on his pump setting..
I did the math in my head and figuered that 410 vrs 550 ment the guy was gonna pull a few buses on me minimum. But from 50-140 mph he only got me by 2-3 cars..
All the ricers were histerical over how he won. And gathered around his car talking and BSing..Like they thought I was upset..When really I was damn proud/happy that my stock Viper was such an competitor ..
