I saw the show too, its actually a year or so old (from prior to the TT model). In a later show they tell you that the newer street cars would be faster than the track cars. this is due to the larger diffusers that are run on the street cars (there is a regulation on the size of diffuser allowed in the race series) thus giving more down force and cornering ability. (assuming same tires of course) Pretty cool.
