At an Aug. 25 sentencing hearing, though prosecutors asked for a two-year prison term, Crin's mother specifically asked the court not to send Gage to prison. She said though she was devastated by her daughter's death, Crin would not have wanted to see Gage go to prison, Fitzgerald said.
