Re: CP Forged pistons

can you say

BANG!

In a word - NO.

There is a way to run that high compresion and TT but the cost of such an engine forbids buying pistons on ebay - you'd have everything built for it from the ground up, and few would even know where to start.

the only fixes if you insist on keeping those pistons are these:

1 - have a custom head gasket made to lower compression down to what your tuner will suggest.
2 - or remove pistons and have the domes machined off then the gasket thickness selected to finalize compression to required.

neither options appeal to me at all and I am assuming there is enough meat under the dome to take them off - they may be forged lightweight and will not allow that.

set those babies at a 0.035" quench clearance and enjoy a crisp n/a engine. If you go TT - I'd be pricing up new pistons if I were you.
