Re: Little girl in Idaho tells horrible tales of kidnapping

Two points:

1. When someone who is hell bent on gun control talks to me I bring up cases such as this. My question is what right does the government have to take away ones right to defend oneself when the government is unwilling/unable to protect its citizens against animals such as this?

2. I've always found it untenable that the judiciary is not subject to the same tort system as the rest of us. Just about anyone can be sued for their day to day activities both at home and at work if another party feels that they have been injured as the result of someone's actions/activities. It seems that if judges were held liable for making decisions that lead to outcomes such as this one here they'd be a little more cautious in subjecting the public at large to the potential depravity of obviously sick folks. If that judge could be sued I'm sure it'd be a slam dunk case for the family and the little girl and hopefully the judge would be bankrupted. Little solace but at least some.

Fire away.
