I locked the keys in the trunk when I first got my Viper. Same key also for ignition. Called a locksmith at 10pm and had visions of him cutting the lock out to get the trunk open and then I would have to replace the lock. He arrived in a van with a computer and just pulled out a couple of wires and put them in the trunk lock and made a key on the computer. I figured that at this time of night it would probably cost me a couple hundred dollars to get the trunk open and then I would have to buy a new trunk lock and install it. He said the computer system works on almost any type of lock including door locks. He charged me $90.00 and told me to turn it into my insurance company. I didn't think the insurance company would pay for my own stupidity but they did. Since I did this stupid thing I did find out another way to open the trunk without the key but not going to give out that information here for obvious reasons.
