A tab is the patch you wear above your unit patch on your left arm (airborne tab, Ranger tab, Special Forces tab). A scroll is a unit identifier. Every uunit in the army has their own patch. The unit patch for the 75th Ranger Regiment is a scroll. It is also for the 1st 2nd and third Ranger Battallions which all fall under the 75th Ranger Regiment. You have to earn the scroll. It's easier to get than to keep though
