That cop could have basically walked from this if he hadn't turned his video recorder to "save". The GPS data in the car isn't that precise, so as far as what anyone could prove, he could have claimed that the car that crashed must have been behind him and never caught up. Good for him that he stopped to render aid, but I'm sure a lot of cops would have done anything to keep their own ass out of the sling.
Good for him? The mans a party to a double murder. In less than a half mile, two cruisers pulled out and hit 70+ mph? If I did that, I'd have a 6 point ticket in my lap.

Fuck them both. I say string em up and let the families of the dead kids stone them.
