Spray, as much as I'd love a motor to save me some commute time, that'd go against my crusade to stay in shape.

By the way, that goped can carry 400 pounds. That's the adult scooter of choice, when looking at human-powered ones.
Since I'm down to 180#, I'll be able to pick up two 95# hotties along the way.
I've just completed 5 days of scootering to work. 1hr to go, 45 min to come back (it goes downhill more on the way back).
To avoid havign to slap on sunscreen all over, I wear thick sweatpants and a thick hoody, plus mechanic's gloves. I only need to goop up my face with some white paste high SPF.
I look like the una-bomber with a enormous head (I have the helmet in the hood of the hoody).
It's no wonder most people look at me with fear in their eye as I rumble by at full speed. (about 5 MPH!).
My current crap scooter (old Sharperimage TranzX) made me face plant twice already, which led to me ordering the above goped.
First the steering losened itself from the vibrations, and the front wheel turned on me, while negociating a big crack in the sidewalk... wee.
Then the next day the front wheel assembly completely dismantled itself as I was about to cross a 4 lane street. 10 bits of wheel and suspension all over the road... plus a near faceplant.
Now I ride with the front assembly somewhat held in place with a screw given to me by one of our IT guys, normally used to mount computers in the racks.
I have to check it every 2 minutes to see if it's coming lose, and I screw it back in with a few choice words.
Yesterday a bus nearly ran into me while I was riding in the bike lane. #$%#^!!@!!!!
That's why I prefer scootering to biking, I can jump out of the road a lot more easily, and I can take the sidewalks if things get too hairy on the street.
Plus I like the standing up position, versus sitting which messes up my back enough from being on a chair all day at the keyboard.
Are you inspired yet? Who's gonna try it?
If you live farther from work (I'm 5 miles away), or if the roads are too steep, bad sidewalks etc., that will be dicey.
