Think about it like this..... What if you had skateboard wheels on the back of your car? Could you imagine how easy it would be to light those suckers up! So, as you go taller from a skateboard wheel, it gets harder and harder to spin the wheels from a stop. Imagine Monster truck wheels on the back and how hard it would be to get them to spin if you nailed it.

The way I look at it is, the taller the tire, the harder it is to spin and the more dramatic, the gear ratio changes. You could really haul some ass with a monster truck tire on the rear, once you get through all the gears at the top end, but if you had a skateboard wheel on the back, you would still be spinning like crazy at the starting line, even in 6th gear.

So how tall do you go? Well, I would say it depends on what you are trying to achieve. Are you going for "Bling Bling" or haulin ass? All the drag racers go with a 15" wheel and a tire that has a total "outer diameter" of 26" - 28" tall. They do that for a reason.... So if you are trying to go fast, then stick with something within that total "Outer Diameter", but if you want to drive a "Donk" and look like you be Slangin and Bangin, then toss some 30's on that hoe and roll it through the souf side!

I guess what I'm trying to say is....... you seem like a 20" on the rear and 19" on the front kind of guy.

I would listen to Frog on this one. He is quite well known in the Austin street scene for tearing his car down to parade rest in front of a crowd of girls to change a wiper fuse and then go on to bolt up a pair of skateboard wheels to demonstrate the awesome torque of the Gen I by disappearing in a cloud of dust and a hearty Hi Yo Silver.
