Well, I'm 35, so I was a teenager during the AIDS scare years when it kind of put a damper on things. Not that AIDS isn't around anymore, but teens don't think they will catch any disease these days. In the 60's and early 70's sex was rampant and now it seems in the last 5-10 years it is rampant again. I always am either too early or too late.

Seriously, from what I've read and heard (my first wife was an 11th grade school teacher, and it was constantly a topic of conversation), it varies dramatically from one school to another -- even within a single region. She worked in a bunch of schools both good and bad, and to be honest it seemed to be more of a problem in the good schools. But then, maybe in the bad schools it just paled in comparison to the metal detectors and gunfights.
