Another Underground Racing blower car in the 9's!

Went back to the track tonight to try to get another pass or two in.

Very first pass of the night (pay not attention to the dragster next to me):

Very anemic 1.59 60'.

Car went perfectly straight. No drama as you can see.

Let the car cool off and went back and tried it again. I knew I could get the car to leave harder.

On this pass, the car went a 1.47 60', and then the car spun at the top of 1st and got a little out of shape. Had to lift a little.

Below is the result.

Crap! If I could have stayed in it and kept it in the groove, that should have been a 9.80 or better. Oh well. After that, enough people started asking questions about the car that I figured it was time to go before I wore out my welcome.

Car still has factory suspension, factory transmission and factory halfshafts.

This car is an absolute blast to drive. I've honestly never had so much fun driving a car.

It's amazing the reaction you get from people when you pull off some passes like that in a Viper. After that 9 second pass, people kept coming up and asking me if it was true that I drove the car there. I said, "Of course, and I'm going to drive it back home, too." Trailered race cars parked on both sides of me were running mid to high 10's. They couldn't believe that a street driven, pump gas car could run like this.

Thanks again to Underground Racing for building such a bad ass car.

A few more passes and it should be quite a bit deeper in the 9's.
