Say what you want but no duramax or cummins will run low 13's with just a tune or 1200.00 dollars. One truck has a little more aggressive tune that runs high 12's loaded crewcab by the way.
I will take a Cummins or a Duramax any day of the week, year, or century for building a badass engine. You can run boost/power levels for 300k miles on a stock Cummins that would shoot a built 6.4's rods out of the block in 100 feet. It is pretty easy to chip a Cummins to 500 RWHP. I would be surprised if it didn't run 12s with the new tranny. It weighs a lot less than the Ford.

Stock Duramax's will make way over 500 RWHP on stock turbo and injectors. They aren't as good built for towing (banks likes em for drag racing though).
