Drunk drivers...

Well, saturday night I got a call from a friend telling me that my ex-girlfriend was in a horrible accident. He tells me that she was being life-flighted to a hospital about forty minutes away.

I get to said hospital and find that she is doing okay, considering what had happened. Only a broken wrist, whiplash, stiches in her hand, and various cuts and bruises. She is lucky, but I had no idea how lucky she was until i saw the car.

Her parents asked if I would pull some of her belongings out of the car for her, and this is what I saw:

All I can say is that I am happy she is alive. Even though she is my ex, I still love the girl and it damn near tore my world apart when i got that call. To my surprise, I called her parents and they had no idea what had happened. Apparently the police were taking their sweet ass time calling the next of kin that night.

No, onto what had happened.

She was on her way home from a friends house at roughly two in the morning when a 19 y/o kid slammed into the rear of her car at a high rate of speed. She was going 55-60, and from the police report, he was going between 80-100. He was going to pass her, but apparently for got to do that, and hit her. She went into a ditch, rolled a couple of times, and ended up going through a fence and into a field. She was able to climb out of the car, and got away.

She is okay, but sore. All I can say is that drunk drivers need to have a bullet in the head...
