I know that part of Lou's reasoning for not using SS is because they hold and radiate MUCH more heat than his aluminized and double coated design, which is very important to Viper owners especially. ive heard that story for many years now. ask any pilot or any aircraft mechanic what material is used on every aircraft exhaust system on the planet. answer is stainless steel. if there was a benefit to using coated mild steel over stainless then airplanes would be running it too. but there is not.

mild steel is far cheaper and is also easier to cut and weld. i am not disparaging the bellanger product as i know it makes power and looks / fits well. but to suggest that any mild steel exhaust system is superior to a stainless system is just pure salesman baloney.

SRT is now testing our system for the 2008 Viper. We have shown a 1 second per lap improvement on the 2008 ACR at the Chrysler proving grounds. This system will go on the SRT engine dyno after the One Lap of America race. It will be interesting to see how the 2 systems compare on power and torque.
