Hey, Dan you calling my tires marginal? It was fun watching my car on that. I hadn't seen that until now.
The front tires were fairly worn from track use, which might have slowed him down. The alignment is fairly agressive, which might have made it a little twitchier, and a bit faster. It has no mods to the engine, brakes or suspension. It has a roll bar and belts, which add some weight.
