You get what you pay for.

Anyone can slam dunk a gear set and differential, but who's going to spend the time to take it apart 2-10 times, pulling off the bearings, measuring the shims, calculating what needs to be changed and reinstalling them to get the footprint, preloads and backlash correct? Not the guy doing it for $200.

It's more involved than you think, and unless you've done a few hundred diff jobs, shush.
