I've actually never minded the term DohBoy.
Efficiently interpreted (and considering I'm low on the fat scale), it can go one of two ways. Either of which places it as a term of both endearment, and respect.
1)
Per the urban dictionary, it could reference a baker...but more importantly, a generally cool dude. I mean hell, I enjoy making some pizza crust as much as the next guy (secret is olive oil, canola oil and cornmeal mixed right in the crust before letting it rise), but I consider myself pretty cool. Downright suave even.
2) Dohboys (well, specifically spelled doughboys) are the slightly outdated reference to the general American infantryman. Best known from its use in World War One, it actually dates back to the Mexican-American War of 1846-48 (which I guess held off the invasion until now). A cornerstone of the strategic battlefield, my shrewd wit knows no bounds.
