Good post. However I wouldn't be so quick to write the Alley off just yet. We have some up and comers in the league of noobs, and with the reappearance of SE and WW, (I know, they never "really" left) we are getting some fine instruction on the tao of artful smack.
Life being what it is, I can't spend nearly the time on the Alley, and improving myself in general as I'd like to, but I've learned punctuation, grammar, and how to compose a sentence. Next month I'm going to work on paragraph skills.
