Wow did this thread ever take a wrong turn.

Threads like this one exemplify the downward spiral that the Alley has found itself in for quite some time now. The personal attacks, the outright animosity that some members have for one another, the petty bullshit that somehow keeps surfacing, etc. etc. etc.

You need only check out "Best Of" to validate my point. Since January of 2007, only 6 threads have measured up to the standards that this place was built on. Prior to that it was one or two a month, many times even more thank that.

In retrospect, it was probably inevitable. This place was built by shit-talkers for shit-talkers. The hapless victims simply began to outnumber the attackers and things turned ugly. Oh well, it is what it is. But it is also the primary reason why you don't see most of the original members and/or the majority of the quality content producers posting here anymore, and I'm not talking about myself here. I'm talking about the laundry list of A-teamers that actually founded the Alley and whom initially drew most of us here in the first place. Very few, if any, of those people have more than a handful of posts in the last 16 months or so. There is a huge difference between the outright humor that used to grace this board and the obvious mean-spirited exchanges that we see today. Things got personal and the damage is done.

The VA vs SA crap is no different than the old VA vs Morg crap. There is a place for both boards, and just because certain people might enjoy one over the other doesn't necessarily make one better or one worse. Personally, I still enjoy both boards and spend whatever time I have online catching up with stuff on both sites.

As for MRob? She's a punch line. Nothing more, nothing less. Nobody mentions her name because nobody cares. When her name is brought up, it's usually in the same context as the looter guy, with the only difference as far as I know being that the looter guy doesn't show up here within minutes and claim to have a back alley network of informants that race to their IM's and cell phones every time someone posts one of his pictures.

Shit! I just realized that I'm posting this as myself and not the man behind the black curtain.

Oh well, I guess I'll step aside and let you guys drag this thread back into the mud. In the meantime, I'll be off enjoying my life.
